PROGRAM OVERVIEWIn 2023, the Transportation Security Administration confiscated almost 7,000 firearms at airport security checkpoints. Last year, a health system in Ohio confiscated 30,000 weapons! This begs the question: How do hospitals balance the safety, security and privacy of patients, visitors and their workforce? This session will discuss the emergence of increased and innovative security measures in hospitals to address the recent uptick in violent incidents at health care facilities.
